For more than three decades Berend Strik has sewn into photographs, turning a domestic gesture into a way of thinking about architecture, the body and care.

From September 2025 to March 2026 Stedelijk Museum Schiedam placed Berend Strik in dialogue with Kees de Goede, showing how a stitched photograph can carry the weight of a museum wall.

Berend Strik's first exhibition at Hopstreet Gallery in Brussels brought his stitched photography to a new audience, using thread to make memory and feeling visible on the surface of the image.
