The Inclusion of the Excluded

Visual artist and initiator Berend Strik presents The Inclusion of the Excluded: an evening with one opera and three performances.

Participating artists and musicians are Berend Strik, Cindy Moorman, Joan Rincon, Gerri Jäger, Meeus van Dis, and soprano Lies Vandewege.

For The Inclusion of the Excluded, Berend Strik created an opera centered on the theme of inclusivity, inspired by the famous book by New York artist Joe Brainard, *I Remember* (1970). Berend Strik wrote his own libretto for this and drew his own score. The text and drawings will be sung by the Flemish soprano Lies Vandewege, known for her collaboration with Jan Fabre.
